Hi everyone! I wish I could update this site more often. In a perfect world this would be one of my main focuses. Unfortunately, that is why I only post about once or twice a month. Anyways, today’s high-miler comes to us from Steve King:

“I bought my 2003 Honda Accord in Arizona. I am the sole owner and all of the miles are by me. I owned a 1987 Honda Prelude prior go my Accord and drove it to 435,000 miles when I donated it to Junk for Jesus. That’s when I bought the 2003 Accord. I expect my Accord can run at least another 200,000 miles. Right now I’m shooting for 500,000.”

Thank you for sharing your accord story with us Steve. When you hit 500,000 miles, please let us know.

GREY GHOSTUnless it’s an F-150 or some Ford super truck, we don’t get a lot of stories about high-mile fords ’round these parts. Not sure why that could be. However, today, we are talking about a Ford Fusion SEL V6 from 2008 that has done what few Fusions have fared. HMC reader Floyd Allion let me know that his Ford has in fact forged forth with fury:

This is my first Ford vehicle in over 20 years. I bought her in Feb 2010 with 58,000 miles. I wasn’t sure I wanted a Ford, but I had just been stationed on site at the Ford Dearborn Rouge complex and was required to drive a Ford if I wanted to park inside the complex. It turned out to be the best decision. As I am about to roll up my 400000th mile, I have had toimage003 do almost nothing but the normal maintenance. Engine and Transmission are 100% original. The most major items I’ve replaced are both front wheel bearings and both rear brake calipers. I’ve had one tune-up and trans filter/fluid change at around 250000. She has survived 2 run ins with the Michigan whitetail population. My deer count is approx. 15 in the last 25 years. My car insurance hates me!
This car still drives like the day I test drove it. Apparently, she doesn’t know she’s an old lady, and I’m not about to tell her!
Here’s to at least another hundred K.
Thanks for your interest,

Floyd, thanks for sharing your Ford story with us. For all of those Fusion owners out there: Yes, it’s possible to get your car to those lofty heights. Never give up. Floyd, let us know when you hit 500,000 miles! Fight the futile Ford Fight with all of your Focus. Whoops, sorry. That’s another model altogether.
