Here’s an interesting Youtube find. It would be the first Nissan I’ve ever featured on the site, other than Steve Marsh and his Leaf. Seems pretty legit to me. Well done on the milestone.

One of the goals I have planned for this site is to archive all high-mile vehicles in a central location. The problem with news and forums stories is that time tends to let them vanish in faded CMS databases and bankrupt organizations. If I can keep this site going, High-mile cars will always have a place to call home. And what better car than a high-miler?

A good example of this comes to us from reader Paolo. He read our story Mercedes-Benz 250SE and remembered a similar article from a few years back. George and Luzstella Koschel of Orange County, California bought a 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE new in 1970 and put 1,019,000 miles on it.  Sadly, it appears this story might be lost to history. I cannot find much on the current status of this car. If you know where it is today, please let us know. It’s a classic high-miler that will be added to our Hall of Fame.

Update: It looks like the car was recently given back to Mercedes Benz by the Koschels themselves. At least we know the car is in good condition. Sadly, it doesn’t look like it will be racking up anymore miles.

Here’s a great story from the Hannibal Courier-Post about a lady named Dolores Treat who has amassed 400,000 Miles on her ‘Volvo.’ She bought it used in 1989 and it has seen service ever since. They change the oil every 3000 miles and the car has never been in an accident. I would assume that there hasn’t been a major repair on it either, other that having the seats reupholstered. This is the kind of article that we love to talk about. The sad thing is, they never mentioned the model and year of the car. I might have to dig a little deeper on this story.

Seriously though. Let me know if I missed the model and make.

Update: HMC’s Volvo Expert Paolo was all over this story. Within moments of me posting it, he was able to tell it’s a 240DL. Check out how he did it in the comments. Thanks again Paolo. You really know your classic Volvos. Wow, hard to imagine a car from 1989 being classic. I am old.

Sorry folks. I’ve been busy life and work, but don’t think I’m not going to be updating this blog. I’m always on the lookout for high-mile cars, and when I find them, be rest-assured, I’ll be posting them here. I have a goal to get out three articles a week. I’ll see if I can start implementing this on Sunday. Stay tuned!

I’m really late with this, but I just wanted to congratulate Josh Clymer on his amazing milestone of 400,000 miles in his 2005 Acura TSX. You may remember the story I posted a while back. That is one amazing achievement and he is way on his way to 500,000 miles. We will be following you all the way.  You can also follow his adventures at his WordPress blog. We have it listed in the blogroll. Way to ho, Josh!
