’89 BMW M5 with 400,000 Miles

Some day, I hope to catch up with all the high-mile vehicles out there, but it appears there are more than I expected. That’s okay. I need something to blog about. Anyways, Here is a story from last year on Petrolicious about Randy Balingit-Hartmann, a man who bought a 1989 BMW E28 M5 and fell in love.  It’s a beautiful car. He bought it new, and took possession of it right off the truck.

While it might not be the highest-mile car we’ve featured, but there is enough class in this story to let it stand strong with the other vehicles here on HMC. What struck me was how car car kept him going between the good times in his life and the bad times. Randy actually asked his father to help him with getting the BMW dealership to take him seriously. Randy’s relationship with his car is a really amazing one.  It’s these stories we love to feature. He plans to drive it until he can’t drive it anymore.
